A new framework for assessing how asset managers use voting and engagement to support the net-zero transition. First results in Q1 2027.

Asset owners increasingly expect managers to demonstrate credible stewardship, but existing disclosures make it difficult to distinguish activity from genuine quality.
Key tensions
✦ How do you compare managers consistently?
✦ How do you assess voting and engagement together?
✦ How do you distinguish disclosure from actual stewardship performance?
Climate-Aligned Voting Indicator
Evaluates observable voting behavior against a transparent set of expectations.
Climate-Aligned Engagement Indicator
Assesses the quality and credibility of engagement practices using structured evidence.
Combined assessment
Gives fund selectors and asset owners a more systematic way to identify strengths, gaps and differences between managers.

Developed through a year-long collaboration with PostFinance, with input from asset owners, asset managers, academics and stewardship experts across Switzerland, Europe and the US.
This approach allows us to focus on what is both methodologically robust, and what is practically implementable.
The framework is designed to support manager selection, monitoring and stewardship conversations, giving asset owners a clearer basis for asking not only what managers do, but how consistently and credibly they do it.
